SA bikies to answer charges in November

20 Hells Angels and Finks bikies will answer riot charges next month over a wild brawl in an Adelaide nightclub. The case against the rival gangs came before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday, with defence counsel for some of the men, Craig Caldicott, saying he had received 160 statements. Mr Caldicott said video footage of the alleged incident was also to be handed over by the prosecution. Police have charged 24 members of the two bikie gangs over the brawl in May. They previously alleged the rival gangs attacked each other with bar stools and bottles, forcing other patrons to flee for their own safety. Police used video footage from inside the nightclub to make the arrests. Chief Magistrate Elizabeth Bolton ordered all those charged over the alleged brawl to answer the charges on November 18. But she said it would be sensible for some to come to court in the morning and others later in the day. All those charged remain free on bail.
